Summer Holidays are not too far…
Four more weeks and the school is over. Here I made something fitting for the hot weather ahead. My strictest critics approved. “Frilly but balanced” is the verdict. To prevent straps slipping off (can be a problem with sun dresses) I hid a soft elastic between the layers. Lettuce edge ruffle along the hem, cut on bias to make the pattern “play”. Happy summer, girls.
In my shop tomorrow.
Green Sundress
I made a summer variation of a very successful design. Not yet in the shop. But you can always e-mail me:

Another “winter” dress. Again I wasn’t original. My girls had dresses of this very cut. The goal was to make a sweet looking outfit without loosing any comfort. Fabric used the same as with a previous one, but it is not a designer’s exercise. Keeping the same color combination makes it easy to fit into existing wardrobe, and helps to avoid “parrot look”. I’m not against bright and cheerful palate (obviously) but everything should have the time and the place. Raised waistline helps the dress “to last” – we know how quickly children grow. Full double skirt, no skimming. So here we go. Have fun dressing your little princess and send me your opinion.
Dress Needs a Name
Let me introduce a new arrival. “What’s name?” Who knows. “Sarafan” doesn’t do it for me, pinafore not quite, winter dress without sleeves… he-he-he. Never mind. It might be a no-name dress but it is a good one in many respects. Pattern is classic, tried and proven many a time. I’m saying it as a mum. Imagine it with sweater underneath, warm tights and may be a short boots. Looks good, isn’t it? T-shirt or skivvy for warmer weather. It’s a “working horse” type of dress. What makes it work?
- FABRIC – 100% cotton washed drill – wears like jeans, but fills much softer
- SHAPE - fits into any wardrobe. Every girl has T-Shirts in plenty. Try the dressy blouse under and see how it changes. Warm or cold, summer or fall… My kind of thing – reliable.
- COLOUR – Pink, yes, but what a shade, soft on eyes , but girlie and modern at the same time. Rear combination indeed.
Sister Dresses
Well, I like these two a lot. Design is working very well indeed. See for yourself. Easter – yes, spring – please, sunny day – of course …
