Nothing beats the smell of cinammon baked apples. Add nuts and honey and you get a perfect autumn dessert.
Sauerkraut or Pickled Cabbage
…homemade this time. Cabbage, carrots, and salt, no trimmings or additional flavorings, exactly how my gran used to make. Still remember the first time I helped her. It seemed endless chopping and grating. A huge pot to last whole winter. One humble dish, a lot of fond memories.
Odd One Out
During the term it is a rear occasion, but on the holidays, when kids are at home, we can spend some time in the kitchen together. Home made pasta dishes is almost a tradition with us already . Ukrainian varenyky (aka pierogi) this time. It is like playing with plasticine, only we can eat the results. I like different small shapes and it isn’t that long to make, when you have three willing helpers. For the sake of laughs kids always sneak in “a wrong” shape. See if you can spot the odd one.
