Continuing my picture recipe collection…
Doughnuts… I’m not at all favour them ready-made, neither I like to do them. But once in a while when I want something “deep fried and smothered in chocolate” I make my own. Still it’s an opportunistic type of treat. I never bother to do just them.
It started when I had to dispose of some left over dough. Kids were not impressed at all. No wonder, the texture of my “beauties” doesn’t resemble what they got used to think as doughnuts. O, well, more for me, said I. Long gone those times. I have to make twice as much dough nowadays, still they disappear very quickly. Hot and fresh they are hard to resist. Sometime I fry just balls of dough. They come out big, round and with a cavern inside. One way or the other but doughnuts must have a hole
And here is the main dish. One which my doughnuts sprouted from. Yeast dough with some wheat bran(helps the crunch). Mince and onion filling. Rather ordinary, but easily adaptable.
Holidays are here
Home pasta as usual. Its so nice to make food together with kids, and not the basic stuff, but something interesting.
Ordinary Dinner
Meatballs with rice, two potatoes mash (white and sweet), salad (greens, pears, almonds).
Rissole and Boiled Buckwheat
Once upon a time a mixed a chicken and beef mince, it turned up very nice indeed. Accidental discovery found a permanent place in my kitchen. Approximate ratio is 2 parts of beef to 1 part of chicken. Further experiments showed, that turkey mince won’t do.
Family effort
What did we do on Saturday? We cooked and we ate. Participants don’t want to show their faces – too shy.
